The candlelit dining room is dotted with antiques and eclectic artwork—yes, even framed teapot pictures in the bathroom—creating an atmosphere that feels genuinely cozy rather than contrived.

The kitchen delivers Commonwealth classics with playful updates that actually work. The bangers and mash hits all the right notes with juicy sausages nestled into impossibly smooth potatoes, while the battered sea bass puts most pub fish and chips to shame with its perfectly crisp coating. Start with the steelhead crudo or chicory salad before diving into the heartier plates, and save room for the eton mess, a delightful finale featuring spiced apples.
