Roberta’s made its name in a Brooklyn warehouse over a decade ago, pioneering the kind of beautifully charred, artisanal pizza that launched a thousand imitators. Now this pizza legend has made its way to Los Angeles, setting up shop in Culver City’s Platform shopping center. While the setting—a modern mall adjacent to spinning classes—is a far cry from its gritty Bushwick origins, the pizza remains just as worthy of the hype.
The pies here are the real draw, featuring dark, blistered crusts with that ideal chewy texture and thoughtfully curated toppings. The Bee Sting, topped with pepperoni and a drizzle of spicy honey, delivers on every bit of its reputation. The Lil’ Stinker brings serious garlic energy balanced by sweet peppers and red onion, while the simple pleasures of the margherita or the cheesy White Guy never disappoint. If you’re ordering appetizers, don’t skip the bread and cultured butter—it’s essentially naked pizza dough served with incredible house-made butter and anchovies.
Beyond pizza, the menu ventures into salumi, vegetables, pastas, and grilled meats, though these offerings don’t quite reach the same heights. The wood-roasted cabbage is a standout exception, arriving smoky and paired with a delicious cod brandade. The pastas tend toward standard preparations, and the grilled meats can be hit-or-miss. Stick primarily to the pies and you’ll leave happy.
This is an ideal spot for a casual dinner with friends or a low-key date where the focus is on great pizza and easy conversation.
