Petit Trois Le Valley
The Sherman Oaks outpost of the beloved French bistro brings a bigger space, expanded menu, and breakfast service to the Valley.

When the beloved tiny French bistro Petit Trois decided to grow up and move to the Valley, it traded in its cramped Hollywood digs for something decidedly more suburban. The Sherman Oaks location sprawls across two spacious dining rooms, accepts reservations, and even serves breakfast - a far cry from the original’s counter-only, wait-outside-in-line experience. It’s still Petit Trois, but with a distinctly grown-up sensibility.
The kitchen delivers rich, unapologetically classic French fare rather than modernist reinterpretations. The escargot arrives swimming in so much garlic butter you’ll want to warn anyone you’re meeting later. The steak frites features quality beef alongside a mountain of perfectly crisped shoestring fries. And the Big Mec burger - yes, a burger at a French bistro - ranks among the city’s best, with its foie gras-laced bordelaise sauce pushing it into truly indulgent territory.
Where this location truly shines is at breakfast. The signature Boursin-stuffed omelette somehow tastes even better when the sun is still low, the croissants achieve buttery, flaky perfection, and the Mec Muffin proves that a refined egg sandwich can absolutely hold its own in a French kitchen. Morning service feels like the restaurant’s sweet spot, where the expanded format works in its favor rather than against the intimate charm of the original.
This Petit Trois has traded some of that secret-Parisian-spot magic for the comforts of space and convenience. Service can be leisurely to a fault, and the larger operation occasionally shows its seams. But for Valley dwellers craving exceptional croissants and butter-drenched French classics without the trek to Hollywood, it delivers exactly what it promises - the same indulgent cooking, just with more elbow room and a parking lot.
