Oaxacan Hot Toddy

How to Make the Best Oaxacan Hot Toddy

When the weather turns crisp and you’re looking for something to warm you from the inside out, this Oaxacan Hot Toddy is the perfect fireside companion. Swapping out the traditional whiskey for smoky mezcal gives this classic cocktail a distinctly Mexican twist that’s both comforting and intriguing.

The combination of bright fresh lime juice and sweet honey balances beautifully against the earthy, smoky notes of the mezcal. It’s a simple recipe that comes together in just minutes, making it ideal for cozy evenings at home or for impressing guests at your next gathering.

The dried Thai chili garnish adds a subtle hint of heat and a striking visual element. If you want to dial up the spice, add a pinch of cayenne to the saucepan—it pairs wonderfully with the smoky mezcal and citrus notes.
