How to Make the Best Huckleberry Mojito

This Huckleberry Mojito is the perfect summer cocktail for those who love a refreshing twist on the classic mojito. Fresh huckleberries add a beautiful deep purple hue and a slightly tart, berry-forward flavor that pairs wonderfully with the cool mint and crisp lime.

Huckleberries are a Pacific Northwest treasure, and this cocktail celebrates their unique flavor beautifully. The muddling process releases both the aromatic oils from the fresh mint and the juices from the berries, creating a vibrant base that gets shaken with quality white rum and a touch of sweetness.

Whether you’re relaxing on a warm afternoon or hosting a summer gathering, this easy-to-make cocktail is sure to impress. The combination of fruity huckleberries, refreshing mint, and fizzy soda water makes every sip feel like a mini vacation.

Instructions

Huckleberry Mojito

  1. In a martini shaker, muddle the mint and half of the huckleberries until the mint is broken up and releases its oils.
  2. Add ice, rum, and simple syrup to the shaker, then shake well until chilled.
  3. Strain the mixture into a glass filled with ice, then add the soda water and remaining whole huckleberries.
  4. Garnish with a wedge of lime and a sprig of fresh mint.

Notes

  • For a sweeter cocktail, increase the simple syrup to 2 tablespoons.
  • If huckleberries aren't available, blueberries make a good substitute.
  • To make simple syrup, combine equal parts sugar and water in a saucepan and heat until dissolved.
