Green Harissa Sauce Recipe
Green Harissa Sauce - a burst of North African flavor for buddha bowls, wraps, tacos, roasted veggies or whatever else you can think of! Vegan adaptable and gluten-free.

How to Make the Best Green Harissa Sauce
Green harissa sauce is a vibrant, herbaceous condiment that brings the bold flavors of North African cuisine right to your kitchen. Unlike its more famous red counterpart, green harissa relies on fresh herbs like parsley and cilantro combined with jalapeño for a brighter, fresher heat. The result is a creamy, tangy sauce that’s incredibly versatile and ready in just 10 minutes.
This sauce is perfect drizzled over buddha bowls, tucked into wraps, or spooned alongside roasted vegetables. The combination of smoky paprika, warm coriander, and fresh garlic creates layers of flavor that elevate even the simplest dishes. Best of all, it’s easily adaptable—use yogurt for a traditional creamy base, or swap in silken tofu for a completely vegan version.
Whether you’re looking to add some excitement to your weeknight meals or impress guests with an exotic condiment, this green harissa sauce delivers. Make a batch and keep it in the refrigerator for up to a week—you’ll find yourself reaching for it again and again.

Instructions
Green Harissa Sauce
- Place all ingredients except yogurt in a food processor. Pulse repeatedly until finely chopped.
- Add yogurt and pulse again until combined, but not too smooth. Taste and adjust salt and heat as needed.
Notes
- You can also blend all ingredients in a blender but note that yogurt will get a little runny. It will firm up some in the fridge.
- You can swap out sour cream or silken tofu for the yogurt.
- For the vegan version with silken tofu, blend in a blender and add 2 tablespoons olive oil, increase salt to taste, and add a squeeze of lemon or lime or a splash of apple cider vinegar.
